Questions about Bali
How much does a private villa in Seminyak cost?
Villas in Seminyak are priced for the whole house rather than per room, so the figure worth comparing is the total divided by the number of people sharing it — not the headline nightly rate. Casa Brio is from US$780++ a night for exclusive use of the villa and up to 8 guests, with breakfast cooked in the villa and the resident team included. The ++ on any Bali rate is tax and service charge on top of the quoted number; here it is 15.5%.
When is the rainy season in Bali?
Bali has two seasons and no others: dry from May to October, wet from November to April. The temperature barely moves between them — average highs sit between 26 and 32°C all year — so what changes is rainfall and humidity rather than heat. Wet-season rain usually arrives as a heavy afternoon burst rather than a grey day, and southern Seminyak is drier than most of the island.

Should we book a villa or a hotel in Bali?
It depends on the size of your party and how you want the days to run. A hotel is the easier choice for one or two people on a short stay: a room, a front desk, a restaurant downstairs. A villa suits a family or a group who want the whole house — a private pool, somewhere to eat together, separate bedrooms and no shared corridors — and it tends to work out better per person once four or more of you are sharing the cost. Compare the total, including tax, breakfast and transfers, rather than the nightly rate.
Where is Seminyak, and how far is it from the airport?
Seminyak sits on Bali’s south-west coast in the Badung regency, immediately north of Kuta and south of Canggu. Ngurah Rai International Airport is 13 km away, which is a drive of roughly 30 to 45 minutes depending on the traffic. Petitenget, the quieter northern quarter of Seminyak where Casa Brio sits, is 750 metres from the sand — about 5 minutes on foot.
How does Seminyak compare with Canggu, Kuta and Ubud?
Kuta is louder, cheaper and closest to the airport. Canggu is younger and more surf-led, about 30 minutes further out along one congested road. Ubud is inland and roughly 90 minutes away, green and cultural, with no beach at all. Seminyak sits between them: restaurants, spas and beach clubs you can walk to, quiet residential lanes one street back from them, and the shortest airport run of the four — which matters most on the day you arrive and the day you leave.
Can you get around Seminyak without a car?
For most of a holiday, yes — which is the main practical argument for staying here rather than further up the coast. From a villa in Petitenget the beach is about 5 minutes' walk, and Jalan Kayu Aya, the restaurant street, is a similar stroll the other way. Beach clubs, spas, boutiques, a temple on the sand and a long row of places to eat all sit within about a kilometre. A car with driver is worth arranging for day trips further afield, not for dinner.
